The United States Department of Labor and the Mid-Atlantic Regional Collaborative (a regional coalition of Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia) are sponsoring a survey to identify workforce opportunities and training needs among employers in Maryland. ICF International (ICF) is administering the survey on behalf of MARC and the Department of Labor.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE?
We are interested in hearing from public, private, and non-profit employers about your current and future jobs, training needs, and areas of growth. If your organization is no longer in operation, please complete the first question and return the survey to us.
WHY SHOULD MY ORGANIZATION PARTICIPATE?
Our survey results will help anticipate future workforce needs and make this region more competitive. Your responses, combined together with other establishments, will help us to get a snapshot of the employment and training needs and opportunities in District of Columbia. That means your responses are very important to the success of this effort.
WHAT TYPES OF INFORMATION DOES THE SURVEY COLLECT?
The survey collects information about your company’s employees, current and future jobs, training requirements and needs, recruitment, etc. One area we are interested in is ‘green’ jobs (please refer to “What we mean by Green” on the tab by the same title for more information and definitions). These are jobs that involve any amount of time spent in producing a product or service that addresses one or more of the following seven categories:
1. Renewable energy and alternative fuels
2. Energy efficiency and energy conservation
3. Greenhouse gas reduction
4. Pollution reduction and cleanup
5. Recycling and waste reduction
6. Sustainable agricultural and natural resources conservation
7. Education, compliance, public awareness, and training directly related to green jobs
Even if you do not have any green jobs at your company, please complete the first few items about your location(s) as well as about your current and future employees.
